The council asked Fire Chief Gomer Gammon if he had concerns about the bonfire, which he said he didn’t have, other than to say if the weather and conditions on that date made the bonfire a possible hazard, that he would shut it down. The council approved the request with the caveat that the fire chief had the final decision based on conditions.
