BBC News Published A man died in a house fire in Kent on New Year's Day. Fire crews were called to Goodall Close in Gillingham at 12:00 GMT on Friday, to reports of a smoke-logged property. Two fire engines were sent and the blaze was discovered on the ground floor. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
