Legacy alive and well in Ballygarrett's botanic garden
Horticulturists Paul and Edel Maher are living the gardener's dream having created a little green haven in Ballinagam, Ballygarrett. The pair are no strangers to gardening, as Paul was the curator of the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin and lived on site with Edel, who was Propagation Foreman for over 40 years. Having trained in the 1970s, the pair worked at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, the National Botanic Gardens at Kilmacurragh, Co Wicklow, and the John F Kennedy Arboretum.
