A new seat has been installed in a Fenland churchyard thanks to a village council.
The seat, which has been built in the churchyard of St Paul s Church at the Gote Crossroads in Gorefield has been provided by the parish council.
It has been built using the keystone from the original Gote Bridge which was saved when the bridge was demolished.
The seat was built using the keystone from the former Gote Bridge. (45918834)
Originally the bridge was a brick arch similar to the one at Fendyke Lane. The keystone has the inscription LP, which parish councillor Peter Thatcher explained indicated that it was in the parish of Leverington when it was built as there was no parish of Gorefield at that time.
