Mumbai: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has constituted a committee for monitoring Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) spoofing.
GPS spoofing, which is believed to have led the aircraft astray, is the surreptitious replacement of a true satellite signal with a manipulated signal to misguide flights.
The spoofing is causing complete aircraft navigational system failures with one business jet almost straying into Iranian airspace without clearance.
