A third worker at the Grand Millennium managed isolation facility has tested positive for Covid-19. They are a close contact of the case who was reported with the virus last week.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand is 108.

Thirteen of the 15 close contacts have returned negative test results, according to the Ministry of Health. Location of interest There is currently one location of interest identified - Bikanervala Bakery, 2 White Swan Road, Mt Roskill on April 7 between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Anyone who visited this location at the time is considered a casual contact and should monitor for any symptoms. A security guard at the Grand Millennium managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) facility in Auckland has tested positive for Covid-19 four days after having a sore throat, Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield says. Bloomfield, speaking at a previously unscheduled 1pm briefing today, says officials were informed of the new case - an unvaccinated 24-year-old man working as a security guard - last night.
