A Kentucky man took his employer to court after they threw him a birthday party he didn't want, and the jurors sided with him, awarding him $450,000 in damages.

Kevin Berling didn’t want Gravity Diagnostics, his former employer, to throw him a birthday party. One was thrown anyway and ultimately Berling was fired over it. A jury awarded him $450,000. $300,000 was for emotional stress; $120,000 was for back wages and benefits, and $30,000 was for front pay.
