Twenty-three-year-old woman charged with attempted robbery Spread the love The police have charged 23-year-old Shadesha Phillip of Grays Farm in connection with the attempted robbery of the Golden Grove Service Station. Phillip is one of two assailants who allegedly attempted to rob a female pump attendant on Thursday 24, June. While responding to the report, the police were fired upon. During the exchange of fire, Phillip was shot and was treated at the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Center for a gunshot wound to her leg. She is expected in court on Thursday. Meanwhile, the police are still searching for the second suspect involved in the incident.

Police seek public’s help amid gun crime spate Spread the love Police have announced that a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of persons involved in recent robbery and shooting incidents, as violent crimes have escalated rapidly over the past few weeks. An armed robbery attempt and shooting at the Golden Grove Service Station on Thursday left staff counting their blessings as, fortunately, none were harmed. Reports are that two armed assailants entered the service station at approximately 4.50pm and attempted to rob a female pump attendant. The police arrived on the scene shortly after and were fired upon by the said assailants, before they returned fire and hit one suspected female assailant – identified in a police statement as 23-year-old Shadesha Phillip of Christian Street, Grays Farm – in the process.

Police found a gun, bullets and two bulletproof vests when they searched Mack’s home last week. The Grays Farm man and his girlfriend recently appeared before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh facing several offences. Mack pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a 9mm pistol, 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 22 rounds of .45 ammunition. He also admitted to illegally obtaining two ballistic vests belonging the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda. Prosecutors withdrew the charges against his girlfriend, who pleaded not guilty. The defendant’s lawyer Lawrence Daniel says a package containing the items washed into his client’s yard during flash floods last November.
