Olean Invites Comments on Police Reform and Reinvention Plan

OLEAN, NY The Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative has completed its plan of reviewing police policies and providing recommendations, Mayor William J. Aiello’s announced on Friday.
Some recommendations in the plan include an expanded role for social workers to collaborate with police, the inclusion of a second school resource officer for the city and a definition of the school resource officer role, the exploration of property tax incentives and sponsorship programs for officers, community policing initiatives, police department accreditations, police training changes, the creation of a civilian review board, and the introduction of more resources to reduce the stress felt by police officers. ....
