A look back: Green Park Lutheran National Junior Honor Society raises money for cancer

Editor’s note: Schools are closed to visitors and extra activities right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we thought we’d take a look back at past philanthropic activities at local schools. Here’s a look back at Green Park Lutheran School raising money for cancer in March 2017.
National Junior Honor Society students at Green Park Lutheran School worked together in spring 2017 to create school spirit and raise funds for cancer research.
“It was the students’ idea,” said faculty sponsor Ann Ryherd. “I was so proud of their great idea and enthusiasm.”
NJHS students created posters for the halls, spoke to the student body and encouraged everyone to dress in color for support.  Monday was white/lung cancer, Tuesday — pink/breast cancer, Wednesday — teal/ovarian cancer, Thursday — orange/leukemia, Friday — liver.
