A 'DELIGHTED' Stuart McMillan last night pledged to protect services at Inverclyde Royal Hospital after sweeping to victory in the Scottish Parliamentary election. A ONE-minute silence to mark the 80th anniversary of the Greenock Blitz will take place during the local election results count. Both events are on May 7 and as a mark of respect the returning officer, council chief executive Aubrey Fawcett, will lead the tribute. The Blitz landmark anniversary events have been scaled back as a result of the pandemic health restrictions, with the Provost laying a wreath at Greenock Cemetery.
