The National Weather Service office in Gray reported that the temperature hit 54 degrees at the Portland International Jetport – exactly 20 degrees above the historical average for Feb. 10.
Unlike Sunday's snowstorm, heavy rain and high winds are expected to cause flooding and power outages.
The first significant statewide snowstorm of the season Saturday night into Sunday dumped more than a foot in some areas, which kept plow drivers and public safety workers busy.
The Maine Department of Public Safety said at least 13 crashes and six slide-offs were reported on Interstate 95, while at least seven crashes and 20 slide-offs were reported on the Maine Turnpike.
