The passing of Charles âCharlieâ Forster, 72, on Jan. 28 left a void that is being felt not just in the community, but throughout the region. Probably best known as president of Collegiate Peaks Bank, he wore many âhatsâ with his involvement with the Chaffee County Fair, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Salida Aspen Concerts, Salida SteamPlant and numerous other organizations and causes. Mail News Editor Commissioners voted unanimously to extend the Nestlé Waters North America 1041 permit to Aug. 4 while Chaffee County awaits release and review of the economic impact report. In addition the county OKd a contract with Harvey Economics for the economic impact report and continued the 1041 permit hearing until Jan. 19.
