Currently, with a 7-0 record, a Point Differential of 147, and a decisive victory over every single one of their opponents so far despite an inevitable plague of injuries, the 2015 San Jose SaberCats appear to be in a similar state to their 2002 incarnation: unstoppable with complete control over the National Conference.
Think you know enough about the Arena Football League to predict the winner of every single game over the course of the season right now? Our staff of experts took their best aim at it with our new Pick 'Em Game.
When was the last time San Jose found itself victorious in the postseason? July 12, 2008. Certainly deep within the AFL's past when it comes to a historically rich franchise like the SaberCats.
Following a significantly productive offseason, it is hardly a surprise to many that the San Jose SaberCats are already off to a solid start for the 2015 season. While some may attribute a 2-0 record to a solid defense, a dual-threat quarterback, and/or a relatively soft pair of matchups, one of the most critical factors as to why San Jose has recently dominated is the variety of receiving targets within its offense.
May 12, 1995: A day that will forever be marked as the originating spark of the most intense, heated war in the AFL. Both teams are currently known for being two of the richest, most successful franchises in league history, and that is perhaps the ultimate recipe to a furious, yet incredible, rivalry.

Griffin Aseltine Saturday June 28, 2014 Coming into Friday night’s matchup between bitter rivals from both historical and modern perspectives, playoff implications were hardly in the discussion of what was on the line. With both the Rattlers and the SaberCats already punching in their tickets to the postseason, revenge, momentum, and perfection represented the true elements of what was really at stake. Before this shocker unfolded, the Arizona Rattlers held a 14-0 record and had a favorable chance at being the first Arena Football League franchise to drive through a full year undefeated. Now, the chances of single-season history being made have completely vanished, as the archrivals from San Jose have shattered the streak with an unbelievable and unexpected victory. After dropping a 57-51 heartbreaker at home to the Rattlers early on in the season, the SaberCats managed to turn the tables around on Friday night and do the unthinkable, jumping to a 41-7 lead at halftime, and a 55-7 lead going into the fourth quarter. Arizona had a minor rally during the final eleven minutes when backup quarterback Dennis Havrilla took over for San Jose, but it was too late to resurrect the perfect record.
