No word how many could be trapped and what caused the collapse. Here is what the mayor said a short time ago. They were doing roof work on the building at the time. Certainly that doesnt seem like it would be the issue that would have caused it. Some of the residents at the Community Center have complained to me the new building that went up to the south used to shake the building when they were putting the pilings in. We need to look hard at what happened there and find out because buildings just dont fall down like this. Still a search and Rescue Operation, meaning they are still looking for survivors after part that have condo collapsed around 2 00 this morning in surf side near miami beach. Youre seeing part of that building left. At the moment one person has died, two are in the hospital. There are no numbers on how many people are still missing after this horrifying scene.
