Clemson Athletics and IPTAY announced on Thursday the launch of HEAR HER ROAR, a fundraising initiative that aims to raise $50 million in support of Clemson Women’s Athletics. Hear Her Roar has been established as the result of many months of collaboration between IPTAY, Clemson Athletics, and the WeCU Inclusive Development and Fundraising Practices Committee, and serves as a key initiative in Clemson's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. The three impact areas for Hear Her Roar are: Scholarships for female student-athletes: funding scholarships for two new sports, CAP Award funding, and summer-school scholarships State-of-the-art facilities: The New lacrosse, Gymnastics and Rowing complex + enhancements to existing facilities Student-Athlete Experience: POWER Women’s Leadership Academy + Sport-specific giving Athletics for women at Clemson began in 1975 when the late Bill McClellan announced the elevation of four women's sports to varsity status - basketball ....
