Local Farmers Institute want temporary exemptions from outdoor water bans for food crops made permanent on BC's Sunshine Coast.
Along with poor crop yields due to compromised winter cover crops, this year's uncertainties around water use exemptions meant late crops weren’t planted and a portion of what could have been a productive fall growing season was lost, according to Sunshine Coast Farmers Institute president.
