Snow is certainly a remarkable thing. even though they are trying to keep it -- trying to keep it clear. snow banks are, obviously, a huge thing here. the winds have been piling up. there's going to be drifts three, four, five, six feet in some areas. that's been the dangerous part of this situation. we expect the snow to continue for the next several hours. blizzard warnings remain in effect until 3:00 this afternoon. >> yeah, we were just getting used to the snow. that's old hat. now mother nature to throw an ice storm on top of it. it was like a luge track today. >> new york getting there r...

And look at the winds. milwaukee still in the 40s in terms of sustained winds. we could see gusts up to 60 yet this morning. here's that freezing rain moving into new york city. it's going to create a glaze of ice on the roadways. we can see as much as a half of an inch to an inch in some areas. especially watching parts of pennsylvania. airport delays. there's none. that's because all the flights are canceled. we'll get you up to date on any closures or anything like that and just want to show you the temperatures, if i can get to this next map. there it goes. that bitter cold air goes into t...

Of 3 miles, fog and lis -- jon: 3 miles is considered reasonably good visibility. you can flight under visual flight rules if you have 3 miles visibility. again in a place like alaska that can change very quickly and if you've got gusting winds as you were talking about, you know, if the wind is gusting 23 miles an hour and funnels through a pass all of a sudden you can get wind that is much, much stronger than that. there has got to be much to be determined about how high they were. it raises the point, 43 degrees apparently at airport, but that suggests that five thousand feet up from there ...
