(KWNO)- A round-up at the register campaign held at Midtown Foods raised $1,780.94 for the Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties.
The two-week fundraising effort wrapped up on Feb. 16. Midtown customers were asked if they wanted to round up their grocery bill to the nearest whole dollar with the difference going to the habitat.
“This money is going to allow us to do more repairs in the community and it’s going to go toward this new home we are building for the Skappel family,” said Habitat Marketing Coordinator Jesse Darst.

(KWNO)- Midtown Foods and the Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties are partnering up for a fundraising effort.
The partnership is a round-up at the register campaign.
“When you go through that checkout line with that friendly person they’re going to ask if you want to round up [your grocery bill] to the next dollar,” said Habitat Marketing Coordinator Jesse Darst. “Over those two weeks that little bit of change is going to add up to big dollars.”
The campaign runs from now until Feb. 16. Darst said the proceeds will go to the Skappel family, who is partnering with the Habitat to build a home in Winona.
