Move quickly through the process, because he is not liking that the bill is not completely paid for according to the congressional budget office official score. but senator hagerty could not stop the bill, but slow it down. it looks like it is going to pass if you are looking at the key procedural vote that was last night, it had the support of 14 republicans, and that is a similar vote count of what happens on the final passage, so this is a bipartisan achievement for this senate, yasmin. talk about the debt ceiling, and the pay fors, and you talk about hagerty, and there are a few of the folks out there like hagerty, and talking about the pay-fors. but for the most part, the indication is that the republicans are really ignoring the debt ceiling on this, and moving forward with the infrastructure, because it is incredibly important to them, the but that said, the worry is if they are going to be able to do that when it is coming to the ....

Washington right now, and joining me is white house correspondent leigh ann caldwell. and so it is as if we are getting beyond the 30-hour window at this point when it is coming to the debate, and so where are we in the time line and when can we be expecting this vote? hi, yasmin. yes, the 30 hours runs out at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. so, there is a chance that the senate will vote on final passage of this infrastructure bill very early tomorrow morning. of course, anything can happen in the senate if there is a support of all 100 senators, so perhaps there is some sort of agreement to move that vote into daylight hours, but, agreement among all senators has been difficult to come by, and that is why this process over the fast past few days has been taking so long. and senator hagerty has been holding up any time lines to ....

Much isn t clear. hagerty for his part isn t changing his mind, but also says he s not holding up this problem. i m not sure how he can say that, because he is the one hold ing up this process. and republicans also say that he is. there are republicans like john cornyn who have amendments they would like to be able to put at play in this process, and because of the way this is working out, their amendments are not getting moved on. so when i asked cornyn specifically about his amendment, asked him why it wasn t getting moved on, he said, stubborn senators. most senators here, republican or democrat, want to get on this bill. they want to move forward with this. and from democrats perspective, i would also point out, this is just part one. you laid this out in your introduction. yes, they re moving on the bipartisan infrastructure bill, but immediately after that comes budget reconciliation. that s the more partisan process here, but also the thing that the white house and democrats ha ....

After months of furious negotiations, 18 republican senators joined democrats to break the filibuster and shut down debate on the bill. senators are confident it will pass, but when is still a little unclear. cnn s lauren fox has the latest from capitol hill. reporter: senators are back in washington over the weekend. they d hoped that they would be able to finish this bipartisan infrastructure bill this weekend. what we now are seeing is that senator bill hagerty, a republican from the state of tennessee, is digging in his heels, not allowing this bill to move any faster through the u.s. senate. he says that he is going to require the senate to exhaust the entire amount of debate time. what that means for people back home, instead of seeing this bill pass over the weekend, you can expect that this debate is going to go into early next week. that is, of course, if they can t get some kind of consensus and convince hagerty to pull back on his threat. so at this point the expectation i ....

To keep alive in the senate. and in our last few seconds, ali, how did this bill not come in as paid for, at least in terms of the cbo score? i thought that was the whole idea behind saying, no, no, no, we don t have to raise taxes on the rich. we can do this another way. clearly, they couldn t. yeah, that was definitely one of the key issues. and it s part of why this group of 20 initially took so long, hammering out these bills. it was finding out the different pay-fors. and so, look, there are republican senators who say, hagerty has a point when he points to what the cbo score actually laid out. at the same time, though, the cbo is not some partisan organization, and democrats and republicans have come together on this. this is a bipartisan bill. you re seeing it in the votes to just move it along. however quickly or slowly they end up doing it. but at the same time, this is a larger point that i ve heard multiple lawmakers make, frankly. which is that, yes, this is about infra ....
