We just don't know how much. the scientists say that the level of the oceans is bound to go up, almost whatever we do, maybe by half a metre or so by the end of the century, if emissions are brought under control, but maybe by a metre if they aren't. and of course, that would be devastating for millions of people living on coastlines around the world. but they also can't rule out a much larger rise, approaching two metres. it all depends whether the polar ice sheets start collapsing. the great ice sheets are already adding to the level of the sea, but this process may suddenly accelerate. scie...
