D-DAY is looming for plans to build 80 new homes in a village. Residents in Earls Colne could be set to see the new homes built on land in the village after council planners recommended the application for approval. Developer Persimmon Homes Essex was given outline permission to build on a site south of Halstead Road in 2017 by Braintree Council. Some parts of the application are still do be decided. Halstead roadworks to close two roads this week

Sloe Hill in Halstead is set to close next week in order to under go cabling works. British Telecom are closing the road on June 29 with the closure expected to stretch towards the junction hear Whiteash Green with Bradleys Lane. Highways bosses have also confirmed BT plan on closing Bradleys Lane at the same time. The road closures are expected to last until July 5 with drivers needing to find an alternative route.
