After Pinellas County officials worked to counteract the damage done to sand dunes on the beaches from Hurricane Idalia, a lot of that progress has been washed away from recent severe weather.
Crews had almost finished an emergency shoreline restoration project due to the damage from Hurricane Idalia. The storm this weekend, though, took a beating on the new dunes.
Tampa Bay is bracing for possible tropical storm-like conditions this weekend, unwelcome news for many residents and business owners, just months after Hurricane Idalia and in the midst of restoration projects.
