Judge cuts jury award in St. Paul police shooting by two thirds
A federal judge has sharply reduced the $11.5 million dollar judgment awarded to the mother of Cordale Handy, who was killed by St. Paul police in 2017. U.S. District Judge David Doty called the $10 million in compensatory damages that were part of the jury’s verdict “patently excessive,” and cut the total amount of the award to $4 million.
