Food toys are a dime a dozen, but few feature Asian food, let alone Singaporean culinary delights, including hawker food. Which is why local children s author Lianne Ong decided to start Heartfelt Makan with her mum, Janet, in 2017, to create pretend play food toys with an Asian twist. The mother-of-two also saw this as a way to preserve Singapore’s food heritage. Apt, after Singapore’s hawker culture has been added to the Unesco Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. ....
