On July 5, a Sitapur court had granted Uttar Pradesh police 14 days' custody of Zubair for having called Yati Narasinghanand Saraswati, Bajrang Muni and Anand Swaroop 'hate mongers' in a May tweet.
The case filed in Uttar Pradesh is in addition to charges filed by the Delhi Police against Mohammed Zubair last week for a tweet he had posted in 2018.
The journalist who is already in custody of the Delhi Police was produced in a court in Sitapur for tweet he had posted on May 27.
