Cape Town fires: Areas evacuated Monday
The wildfire, which broke out on Sunday morning, swept across Table Mountain, claiming the Rhodes Memorial Restaurant and a number of buildings on the University of Cape Town campus, including the Jagger Library and historic Mostert’s Mill.
UCT students were evacuated on Sunday afternoon, with further evacuations in surrounding areas taking place on Monday morning. Gemma Blommaert, Head of Global Forex at Sable International, explains:
“Our forex team is predominantly South African and as a result, we’ve been following the news closely. We wanted to help and enable fellow South Africans living aboard to do the same”. ....
