The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for several districts, with heatwave conditions likely to persist for the next 2-3 days. In response, the Odisha government has closed all schools until April 20. The state has reported its first sunstroke death, highlighting the health risks posed by the extreme temperatures. Neighboring states like Uttar Pradesh are also experiencing high temperatures, indicating a widespread heatwave in the region.
