According to the case statement, the victim became acquainted with Fayezi through social media in September of 2019. In November of the same year, the victim came to Hathazari where Fayezi rented a house for her to stay, the ASP said quoting the case statement. There, Fayezi raped the victim many times over the next one year, the statement added. On Thursday, SM Rashidul Haque, superintendent of Chattogram police, during a press conference told journalists that Fayezi was involved in several extramarital affairs and police learnt of this after examining his mobile phone. Jakaria Noman Fayezi is also one of the financers of the recent Hefajat mayhem, the police official added.

Mashiur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Gulshan Division DB police, told The Daily Star that Kasemi joint secretary general of Bangladesh Khilafah Majlis was found to be involved in the Shapla Chattar violence in 2013 and recent violent activities at the Baitul Mukarram mosque on March 26. Kasemi will be shown arrested in a case filed regarding these incidents of violence, he added.
