Richard Henry Ashing, 54, remains in jail after being arrested in May on the three second-degree felonies stemming from a December 2022 offense. A Young County grand jury indicted Ashing on the three charges Friday, Aug. 18. Ashing was arrested Friday, May 5 and charged with three felonies following a forensic interview with a minor.

According to probable cause affidavits filed for each charge, the victim was given a forensic interview May 5 in Graham. The victim, whose name was withheld due to their age, described two instances of aggravated sexual assault that allegedly took place on or about Dec. 1, 2022.
