Authorities searching for suspect in shooting outside Escondido
NORTH COUNTY — Authorities were searching for a gunman Friday after a man was shot in Hidden Meadows north of Escondido, the Sheriff’s Department said. About 11:30 a.m., several people called 911 to report the shooting on Meadow Glen Way, in a residential neighborhood north of Mountain Meadows Road, sheriff’s Lt. Pat McEvoy said. Callers said a man was down and a vehicle was speeding off. Deputies arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, McEvoy said.
