Kenya has today reported 489 new cases of Coronavirus pushing the total caseload to 161,393. The Chief Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Rashid Aman, in a briefing said the new cases were from  4,426 tests conducted in the last 24 hours representing a positivity rate of 11 per cent. Aman said of the new cases, 449 are Kenyans and 40 foreigners with the youngest being a four-month baby and the oldest 102 years old. A total of 1,311 Covid-19 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country. Another 6,650 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care. Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Friday said 188 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit-ICU of whom 32 are on ventilatory support, 120 on supplemental oxygen and 36 under observations. Kenya Catholic Doctors Association chairman Dr Stephen Karanja (pictured), who spread misleading information on the coronavirus vaccine, has died of Covid-19. Dr Karanja passed away today at the Mater Hospital where he was admitted to the High Dependency Unit.
