Dec 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka tea production for the month of November 2020 totaled 24.8 million kgs, showing an increase of 0.8 million kgs compared to 24.0 million kgs of November 2019, according to figures released by the Tea Exporters Association. However, cumulatively production in the first eleven months of 2020 totaled 249.9 million kgs recording a deficit of 28.3 million kgs against the volume of 278.2 million kgs of January-November 2019. On a cumulative basis, all elevations have shown a decrease, with Low Growns showing the highest deficit. CTC tea cumulative production during January-November 2020 totaled 21.37 million kgs, recording a 0.23 million kgs deficit compared to 21.60 million kgs of January-November 2019.
