Todd County opens 1971 time capsule

A time capsule buried on the grounds of the Historic Todd County Courthouse on the Public Square was unearthed and opened Saturday and plans are being made to preserve some of 2021 and bury it for future generations.
Glen Slack is the president of Historic Todd County, Inc. and read a letter from the committee that buried the capsule for the county’s 150th anniversary half a century ago.
On hand for the capsule opening was James Groves, who led the committee that buried the capsule in 1971. He wore a necktie Saturday that he and other members wore then and one of the ties was among the items removed and inventoried during a ceremony that was streamed on Facebook Live. ....
