India News: Bhavesh Bhinde, owner of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, was arrested by the Mumbai police for a hoarding collapse in Ghatkopar that killed 16 people and injured 7
The police identified the deceased as Preeti Jaggi (38) and her daughter Angel, residents of Lucknow's Indra Nagar area.
According to reports, the hoarding was illegal and the contractor did not get permission from the district administration to put it up.
In the wake of the incident, the police earlier registered a suo motu case of culpable homicide and booked the owner of the site, the contractor who erected the hoarding, the person who had rented it and the firm that was advertising on it, officials said. Officers have till now arrested Namdeo Barku Mhasudge, who owns the site, while the others remain on the run.
