Another accident at Sarikura claimed 2 lives and injured 14 others.

Another Accident at Sarikura in the central Gonja district of the Savannah region involving another Garu-Kumasi bond Kia bus with registration number GR 7287-21 has claimed 2 lives and injured 14 others.
Among the injured is a 9 year little girl who suffered a fractured leg.
The Savannah Regional Commander of Ghana National Fire Service, ACFO, Kwesi Baffour Awuah who confirmed the incident to Joynews, said the accident occured around 10pm last night.
He said a rescue team from his outfit was quickly called to the scene and the injured were conveyed to the Holistic Medicare Hospital at Buipe.
He said the bus was from Garu in the Upper East Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti region but upon reaching Sarikura, near mile 40, the same spot where the two buses collided on resulting in the death of some 20 people, one of the front tyres of the bus burst forcing it onto the ground. ....

30 Buipe-Tamale road crash victims discharged

Thirty persons who got injured in the accident that occurred at Mile 40 (Sarekyekura) near Fulfulso on the Buipe-Tamale highway, in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, last Wednesday, have been treated and discharged from the various health institutions they were sent to for treatment.
Of the 32 who were sent to the Buipe Polyclinic and the Holistic Medicare Hospital, 25 were discharged while five out of the 20 sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) were discharged yesterday, a day after the fatal accident.
The acting Public Relations Officer at the TTH, Mr Misboa Mohammed, told the Daily Graphic that there were 15 injured people still on admission, with four of them in critical condition while 11 with minor injuries were in stable condition. ....

17 killed, 44 injured in north Ghana road crash

A road crash in the Northern Region of Ghana killed 17 passengers and injured 44 others early Wednesday, the police confirmed.
A police statement said the accident occurred when two passenger buses traveling in opposite directions collided head-on at a town near Buipe, a community along the Kumasi-Tamale highway.
Sixteen persons died on the spot while one more died at a hospital where the injured were receiving treatment, the statement said.
Forty-four persons on board the two vehicles sustained various degrees of injury and are receiving treatment at the Buipe Polyclinic and Holistic Medicare Hospital, said the police statement.
The statement added an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. ....
