SRINAGAR: Journalist bodies within Kashmir and at the national level have strongly condemned the weekend “takeover” of Kashmir Press Club (KPC) by a group of journalists, who appointed themselves as the “interim body”.
In what is being called another example of the free press being 'throttled' in Kashmir, a group of journalists and newspaper owners escorted by armed forces took over the management of the Kashmir Press Club on January 15.
Srinagar: Kashmir Press Club (KPC) was locked from outside, with journalists unable to enter the club premises, on Sunday, a day after the takeover of the club by a group of journalists, led by Saleem Pandit of The Times of India, who arrived with a large police force. A notice put up at the club gate stated that it has been
