Supercells we re talking about. the pink is reflective and that would indicate heavy rain or hail, and a hook echo, which don t see, but when you see a hook echo that indicates there is a tornado in the area. so neil: what is a hook echo? it s just a signature on radar that we look at. that would indicate that we see some rotation on the radar. but we, of course, would need somebody on the ground to determine neil: in other words, where there s a high probable of a tornado. yes, absolutely. this radar imagery on the screen, you can see also built of a hook echo there. can you see that right there? and what they talk about is the debris ball that we look for, that big, wide area near the hook echo that we look for, for the potential of debris. the radar actually will reflect the debris that the tornado is potentially picking up. so, that is a very dangerous ....
