The time honoured tradition of the New Year's Day 'arrow ceremony' at Hook Head; one which goes back to 1687, will not go ahead in its usual format this year due to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions. Every year archers join An Cathaoirleach of New Ross Municipal District to fire arrows into the estuary, claiming dominion over the waters.
