The Corbin City Commission voted unanimously to approve the lease of a new city garbage truck through Enterprise Fleet Management at a Feb. 16 special called meeting. Public Works Director Gary Kelly had requested a new garbage truck during the commission’s Dec. 21 meeting. “We were going to bid it out, but it would take probably 10 months to find a truck and build it to our specs,” said Marlon Sams, Corbin City Manager. “Enterprise Fleet worked with another company that had some garbage trucks and they just came in and fixed up the truck suited to our needs.” Enterprise Fleet Management is the same group the city uses for police cars. ....
By Jarrod Mills Staff Writer Feb 18, 2021 Feb 18, 2021 CORBIN â The city of Corbin will begin searching for a new recreation director, as the City Commission approved the resignation of Hope Gibson during Tuesday eveningâs special-called meeting. âShe really has done a great job and sheâs been instrumental, especially over the last year with everything that everyoneâs been through,â commented Commissioner Seth Reeves. âI hate to lose her, but I wish her the best of luck,â he added before making a motion to accept Gibsonâs resignation. Mayor Suzie Razmus echoed Reevesâ remarks, saying Gibson had done a great job. ....
