PLEASANTON — A streamlined review process for some of the city’s housing projects may risk turning public hearings into exercises in frustration, according to the city council at its Dec.
The Mountain View Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) was slated to discuss and recommend adoption of the city’s Housing Element last week, but the public hearing was postponed after city staff said the draft Element isn’t ready.
In Mountain View, 2022 was about getting back to business on some of the pre-pandemic issues -- the housing crisis, homelessness and income disparities -- that were only exacerbated and magnified during the previous two years.
