A truck accident in southwestern Pakistan killed 17 religious pilgrims and injured 41 in a journey to a shrine. The truck overspeeded and went out of control while negotiating a turn, causing the crash. The incident is a reminder of the high fatalities in road accidents in Pakistan due to lax safety measures, poor driver training, and decrepit transport infrastructure.
The crash occurred around 10 pm on the night of April 10 in the Hub district of Balochistan province.
