Oil prices slid more than 2pc from their recent peak as the indirect talks between the United States and Iran resumed.
Investors failed to sustain physiological level of 46,000 points and resorted to across-the-board profit-taking.
Traded volume and value stood at 150 million shares and Rs6.2 billion, respectively.
Resorting to across-the-board profit-taking, investors dragged the benchmark index down to the red zone.
Market participation increased 15.5pc to 360.8 million shares while the value of traded shares went up 15.3pc to $62m.
