'Tough' Our Dexter to raise the bat
Link to Share It has been a waiting game for connections of Our Dexter ahead of his 100th start at Stawell on Friday but race morning has brought about the scratchings the hardy veteran required to make the field. And it is only right and fitting that he ‘raises the bat’ on his home track. Amazingly, it will be the seventh consecutive year he has stepped out at this early January Stawell meeting. Earlier in the week it looked a slim chance for him to make the cut as more than 50 horses were nommed for the 1300m BM58, and Dexter was well down the list.
