Despite it being their first time on the gym in 10 days due to COVID quarantine and missing two starters, the Huntington Huntsmen treated their senior players and cheerleaders to their second win of the season in a 39-34 decision over Portsmouth Clay, Tuesday night.
The Huntsmen held leads off 11-8 after one quarter and 22-17 at halftime, but a 22-13 lead late in the second quarter vanished as the Clay Panthers went on a 13-0 run that extended from late first half into the third period where Clay grabbed a 26-22 advantage.
By the end of the third period, Huntingtonm had tied the score at 26-26 and trailed only one last time at 29-28 where they grabbed the lead for good and held on to improve to (2-14) on the season while Clay dropped to (3-12).
