Epicentr K stores continued to operate in Crimea and occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts since 2014 after the company lost control over them, Ukrainian MP and co-owner of the Epicentr K hypermarket chain, Oleksandr Hereha, said in an interview with Forbes Ukraine on Jan. 17.
LuLu Group International, headed by Yusuff Ali, is planning to establish two large shopping malls in Ahmedabad and Chennai, India. The group already has a presence in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Coimbatore. The Abu Dhabi-based retail giant operates over 250 hypermarkets and supermarkets across the Middle East, North Africa, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Ali expressed his gratitude towards the Indian government for liberalizing the business environment.
