Auto major Hyundai crosses 1 million sales mark for SUVs made in India


South Korean auto major Hyundai on Monday said it has crossed 10 lakh cumulative sales milestone of SUVs made in India.
These SUVs have been sold both in India and export markets, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said in a statement.
The launch of mid-sized SUV Creta in 2015 accelerated Hyundai Motor India's growth in the segment with cumulative sales of over 5.9 lakh units in the domestic market and over 2.2 lakh units in the export market, it added.
Similarly, the company had introduced compact SUV Venue in 2019 and has already sold over 1.8 lakh units in the domestic market, it added.
Commenting on the feat, HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing & Service) Tarun Garg said, "As frontrunners in the introduction of revolutionary technologies, we continue to establish new milestones and redefine benchmarks across segments."

Folks, congratulations are in order for Hyundai India. Why? Well, because it is celebrating the first anniversary of the new  generation Hyundai Creta SUV that was launched in India last year. But that's not the only piece of interesting news that the South Korean automaker has to share; along with the popular SUV's anniversary, the company is also celebrating a sales milestone. Hyundai India noted it has sold more than 1.21 lakh units of the 2020 Creta since it first became available for retail in the country. In total, Hyundai has sold more than 5.8 lakh units of the Creta in India since the car was launched here in 2015. Not only that -- the company has also exported over 2.16 lakh units of the Creta SUV from India.
