People should have access to cucumbers and tomatoes in the off-season at affordable prices, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting to discuss the development of the country's greenhouse industry on 31 May.
“The Union State Biotechnology Forum is the first large-scale event at the BNBC. In September 2022 we achieved good production figures and the corporation has something to show. In this case our main task is to establish cooperation with Russia,” Igor Brylo said.
Belarus has finished planting early spring crops, in particular cereals, legumes and sugar beets. The planting of fiber flax and spring rapeseed will be over literally in a few days, the minister said.
The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said that the area under a number of crops had been increased, including under sugar beets and maize for silage.
“We have had good weather and warm temperatures in the country in recent days. We have begun to step up the pace of both the sowing campaign and other field work. As of today three regions, Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Minsk Oblast, have almost finished planting. Vitebsk Oblast, Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast are also on schedule,” Igor Brylo said.
