Russian and Ukrainian officials on Tuesday gave conflicting accounts of what appeared to be a brazen attack on Russian cruise missiles being transported by train in the occupied Ukrainian Crimean Peninsula.
A local state of emergency has been declared in the town of Dzhankoi in the north of Russian-annexed Crimea following a drone attack late Monday, Interfax quoted the head of the city administration Igor Ivin as saying on Tuesday.
Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea, said all drones shot down over Dzhankoy, Crimea, were aimed at civilian targets and stuffed with shrapnel.
The Ukrainian military said that it destroyed a cache of Russian "Kalibr" missiles being transported by rail in Crimea on Monday.
