India News: NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that heavy to very heavy downpour is likely to continue over east and east central.
Weather Today: RMC Mumbai predicted heavy to very heavy downpour in Mumbai city and suburbs on Thursday. Schools have been closed in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra due to heavy to very heavy rain predictions.
The normal amount of rainfall in Delhi in June is around 74.1 mm, based on a long-period average.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Yellow Alert' for the Northeast, predicting extensive rainfall until May 21.
At present, the IMD has two weather stations in Mumbai at Santacruz and Colaba through which it detects the daily maximum and minimum temperatures along with rainfall and relative humidity. They have several other observatories that only record rainfall during monsoon.
